What is TRE?

TRE™ stands for Tension and Trauma releasing exercises and is A body-led series of simple, powerful exercises developed by Dr. David Bercelli PHD and intended to release stress, tension, and trauma from the body. 

The TRE™ exercises evoke the body’s natural and bio encoded reflex of shaking, myofascial unwinding and/or vibration. This mechanism helps calm and regulate the nervous system releasing muscular tension, everyday stress and even deeply rooted trauma. When this process is initially facilitated and taught by a Certified TRE™ provider in a safe and controlled environment, it is an invaluable tool allowing the body to naturally return to a regulated state. This requires no equipment as it is is an inherent part of the body's own technology. Though first practiced with a provider, you can then use it at home as a powerful self care tool to release physical tension as well as stress and trauma.

TRE™ can be taught in a personal private session as well as in a small or even a larger group sessions.

Offerings:

  • TRE 60 minute Private Session

    A 1 hr TRE session for people familiar with TRE. Note that If it is your first time with TRE,  a 90 minute session is necessary. We will spend some time grounding and I will guide you through the TRE exercises. There will be time for being in the process of your body's releasing reflex, for integrating, resting and for feedback. Even if you are familiar with the process, I can help with modifications, moving past physical blocks and just support by co -regulating with you.

  • TRE 90 minute Private Session

    A 90 Minute private TRE session. This is ideal for your first TRE session as it gives us ample time to learn the process, to be in the process and for rest, integration as well as feedback. It is also great for those who are familiar and would like extra time to tremor, or would like some modifications and creative ways to help allow and guide the neurogenic reflex to different areas in the body. 

  • TRE Group Classes

    TRE small group classes are 3 to 5 person TRE classes for 60 to 90 minutes and you can find them under TRE group class on my Pilates Class schedule. It is helpful to book a private TRE session before a group class, but not necessary.  

    You can also book a private group TRE class for you and your friends, family, co-workers or anyone who can use this tool. Contact me for private groups and refer to my pilates class schedule for my regular TRE group offerings.
